Any Indian household with a valid electricity connection and a suitable rooftop is eligible for the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana subsidy. It applies only to residential on-grid rooftop systems. The subsidy structure is: 1 kW – ₹30,000 central subsidy + ₹25,000 state subsidy, 2 kW – ₹60,000 central subsidy + ₹50,000 state subsidy, and 3 kW and above – central subsidy capped at ₹78,000 with state subsidy capped at ₹60,000.
